Carmen Lowell is working on the backstage of a play in Yale. Kokkinos ouranos (2011)

Valse sentimentale (2007)

 Πανκιό πορωμένο με την Carrie (1976), γνωρίζει έταιρο αντικοινωνικό στο βιντεοκλαμπ που πρόλαβε και νοίκιασε την ταινία πρώτος, και διαπραγματεύονται το αν θα τη δουν μαζί. Έχοντας περιγράψει αδρά τους χαρακτήρες της και την κλισέ συνάντησή τους στα πρώτα δέκα λεπτά, η Κωνσταντίνα Βούλγαρη (της γνωστής οικογενείας) στο σκηνοθετικό της ντεμπούτο, σκορπάει άλλα 130 για να σχεδιάσει μια αντισυμβατική ερωτική ιστορία δύο περιθωριακών αυτοκαταστροφικών στα όρια της κατάθλιψης (ή και πέρα απ' αυτά) νέων. Ψυχολογική θέση που τους αρμόζει, αφού δουλειά δεν έχουν, λεφτά έτοιμα να ταΐσουν το υπαρξιακό τους κενό να μεγαλώσει δεν έχουν, τίποτα να κάνουν να περάσει η μέρα τους δεν έχουν, και κυκλοφορούν σε μια μισοφωτισμένη εκδοχή των Εξαρχείων, σαν χαρακτήρες πλαστοί, που ο Δημιουργός τούς βρήκε λειψούς και τους παράτησε στο κάτω συρτάρι της πίσω ντουλάπας της αποθήκης στο παλιό σπίτι του παππού. Η ηρωίδα της Βούλγαρη, σαν άλτερ εγκο της, θέλει να κάνει μια ταινία για μια ερωτική ιστορία, όπου δεν γίνεται τίποτα, δεν έχει ίντριγκες, δεν έχει ανατροπές, θελει να το κάνει σαν ψυχοθεραπεία, για να τα βγάλει από μέσα της, πράγμα που υποθέτω μπορεί να το πει κανείς για πολλούς σκηνοθέτες, οπότε αν συμμερίζεσαι την άποψη του ήρωα που της απαντά ότι είναι ωραίο ότι δεν γίνεται τίποτα, θα βρεις ωραίο και το Valse Sentimentale. Που με λίγα λόγια και πολλή μουσική πολλά στατικά πλάνα, μέσα απ' τις μπόλικες άβολες στιγμές που σου προσφέρουν ήρωες χωρίς μεγάλη αυτοπεποίθηση "σ' αυτά τα πράγματα", πασχίζει να τραγουδήσει σε μουσική απ' τις Τρύπες, τον ψυχικό Γολγοθά της διαδικασίας του να γνωρίσεις κάποιον και μετά να τον γνωρίσεις καλύτερα. Πού και πού το πετυχαίνει, αλλά όχι αρκετά για να δικαιολογήσει ούτε τα γύρω στα 40 λεπτά που του περισσεύουν, ούτε την ενθουσιώδη υποδοχή που έδειξε η κριτική στο περασμένο Φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης.
